Spreading Joy and Supporting Community in Indiana

ɫɫÊÓƵ’s Kokomo hospice team had the privilege of taking part in one of their community’s most beloved traditions — the annual Trim-A-Tree Festival, hosted by We Care of Kokomo, a volunteer-led organization that gives back to those in need.

For the Trim-A-Tree Festival, each participating business received a tree from We Care, decorated it and provided gifts to place underneath it. The beautifully decorated trees were then displayed at the Markland Mall, giving thousands of community members the chance to see each sponsor’s contributions. On auction night, local businesses bid on the trees — many of which end up proudly displayed in offices and storefronts throughout Kokomo –- and 100% of the proceeds so back into the community for families in need.

The Kokomo team donated decorations and gifts for their tree. At auction, their tree was purchased by ɫɫÊÓƵ for $1,200.

Last year, the festival raised more than $135,000 to support organizations that serve disadvantaged individuals, people living with mental or physical challenges and families facing hardships. This year’s event was an even greater success, raising nearly $140,000 to support those in need across Howard County.

In the spirit of the season, the gifts displayed around the Kokomo team’s tree will be used to bring joy to a hospice patient or family. The team will pick a recipient and plan to deliver the gifts and to bring happiness and comfort during the holidays.

Thank you to our Kokomo team for showing such kindness and compassion for your neighbors — not just during the holidays, but every day.
