ɫɫÊÓƵ Hospice Foundation: Bringing Comfort & Connection

Hospice care focuses on comfort and quality of life during serious illness, but sometimes patients and families need support that goes beyond traditional services. The helps meet those needs by providing additional resources, programs and meaningful experiences that bring comfort and connection during a deeply personal time.

Through compassionate support and community generosity, the Foundation enhances hospice care by helping patients and families focus on what matters most — time together and lasting memories.

What Is the ɫɫÊÓƵ Hospice Foundation?

The ɫɫÊÓƵ Hospice Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports hospice patients and their families with needs that may not be covered by insurance or the Medicare Hospice Benefit. Working alongside ɫɫÊÓƵ hospice teams, the Foundation provides resources and programs that help improve quality of life and reduce stress for patients and caregivers.

Support from the Foundation can include comfort-focused items, enrichment programs and grief support resources that help families feel supported throughout the hospice journey and beyond.

Lasting Wishes: Creating Meaningful Moments

One of the most meaningful ways the Foundation supports patients is through the Lasting Wishes program. This program helps hospice patients experience special moments that bring comfort, connection and joy during the final stages of life.

Lasting Wishes are often simple but deeply meaningful. They reflect each patient’s story, preferences and what matters most to them. Whether it’s sharing a favorite meal, celebrating a milestone or reconnecting with loved ones, these experiences help create lasting memories for both patients and families.

Lasting Wishes may include:

  • Celebrating birthdays, anniversaries or holidays
  • Enjoying a favorite meal or activity
  • Creating memory projects or keepsakes
  • Reconnecting with family or friends
  • Supporting special visits or outings when possible

These moments can provide peace and emotional comfort while helping families make the most of their time together.

Additional Foundation Support

Beyond Lasting Wishes, the ɫɫÊÓƵ Hospice Foundation provides a variety of supportive programs and resources for patients and families.

These may include:

  • Assistance with essential items or unexpected needs
  • Comfort-focused programs and enrichment activities
  • Volunteer-supported experiences and companionship
  • Grief support resources and educational programs
  • Healing opportunities, like restorative yoga

This extra layer of support helps ensure patients and families feel cared for in ways that address emotional and personal needs as well as physical care.

Understanding Hospice Care

Hospice care is designed to support individuals facing a serious or life-limiting illness with a focus on comfort, dignity and quality of life. Care is provided wherever a patient calls home, including private residences, assisted living communities and nursing facilities.

Hospice teams provide care for both patients and families, supporting physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

Hospice services typically include:

  • Skilled nursing visits and symptom management
  • Personal care assistance
  • Social work services and emotional support
  • Spiritual care based on individual preferences
  • Medications and medical equipment related to the hospice diagnosis
  • Volunteer companionship and support
  • Bereavement support for families after a loss

A Foundation of Support

The ɫɫÊÓƵ Hospice Foundation helps extend the impact of hospice care by providing meaningful support that enhances comfort and quality of life.
