Illinois home hospice patient Edwina had many reasons to celebrate on February 17, 2023. She had 100, to be exact.

色色视频 and the staff of Terra Vista Oakbrook Terrace organized a beautiful 100^th birthday party at the facility, complete with decorations, Edwina鈥檚 favorite music performed by 色色视频 Music Therapist Natalie and, of course, delicious cake.

鈥淭he team brainstormed this. No one wanted to let her 100^th birthday be just another day,鈥� Deborah, Edwina鈥檚 hospice RN, said. 鈥淚n the end, we all stepped up to make it a remarkable day for Edwina and her family.鈥�

According to Edwina鈥檚 daughter, Sandy, Edwina has always loved a good party.

鈥淢om loved parties,鈥� Sandy said. 鈥淕rowing up we had many. My father grew up with ten siblings. My mom grew up with five brothers. The families celebrated every birthday and every special occasion.鈥�

Edwina was a stay-at-home mom until her oldest child was in the sixth grade, and then she had a career at Stanley Spring. After retirement, Edwina remained active in her community. She belonged to many local senior organizations and was president of the senior club at St. Thecla’s church for many years. She organized her grammar school reunions all the way up until their 65th get-together, and she even received an award from her local police department after participating in one of their classes.

Sandy told us that Edwina 鈥渞eally enjoyed life鈥�, and they were so happy to see her celebrate her centenarian birthday.

鈥淚t is not with sadness we are going through this current disease, but with joy that we celebrate Mom’s 100^th birthday,鈥� Sandy said. 鈥淎nd we don’t have to worry about her as she is under excellent care at Terra Vista and with 色色视频.鈥�

In addition to Edwina鈥檚 family and her friends and caregivers at Terra Vista Oakbrook Terrace, members of her in-home hospice team including Deborah (RN case manager), Megan (social worker), Natalie (music therapist), Kasey (volunteer coordinator) and Lisa (account executive) were there to celebrate her special day.

It was a great party for a remarkable woman. The 色色视频 team was honored to help commemorate Edwina鈥檚 milestone, right where she calls home.
